The Early Intervention Knee Clinic provides assessment and management of all causes of knee pain.
It is run by a team of consultant orthopaedic surgeons and supported by local physiotherapists.
The most common cause of knee pain is osteoarthritis (commonly known as 'wear and tear'). The Early intervention Knee Clinic offers the ability to assess and manage osteoarthritis in its early stages and provide treatment options which can improve pain and function, and also slow down progression and potentially reverse some of the degenerative changes. These treatment options come in form of orthobiologics (Autologous anti-inflammatory injection therapy AAI, 'nSTRIDE').
In addition to managing early osteoarthritis (wear and tear) through the use of orthobiologics, The Early Intervention Knee Clinic has the ability to provide all forms of knee surgery including arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures, ligament reconstructions, knee replacements including partial knee replacement, complex knee replacement and revision knee replacement surgery.
The Early Intervention Knee Clinic consults with patients and performs AAI procedures at both Mount Stuart Hospital, Torquay and Exeter Medical Hospital, Exeter.
Referrals are accepted from patients anywhere in the UK.
The Early Intervention Knee Clinic are happy to see patients on both a self-referral and GP/physio referral basis. Consultations and treatment are provided on a self-fund and medical insurance basis. Unfortunately The Early Intervention Knee Clinic are unable to provide NHS appointments.
